Frequently Asked Questions
A Private Office Membership is provided to those attorneys who require sole occupancy of an office with 24/7 access to the premises.
This membership is perfect for sole practitioners establishing their practice or for law firms that want to expand their practice.
A Shared Office Membership occurs when two or more legal professionals share one office, or when two or more legal professionals use a private office on certain designated days of the week.
This membership is perfect for a legal practitioner looking for a professional environment on a moderated budget, or for the established small firm looking to expand their practice to other cities around the GTA.
A Virtual Office Membership uses one of Wolf Law Chambers’ locations as a business address with the option of using the boardroom and meeting rooms to meet clients.
This membership is great for someone who is working from home and needs a professional address for their practice and a place to meet clients.
A workstation is a space for legal assistants. Depending on the type, a workstation comes with three drawers that lock, a desk and an office chair. This is perfect for legal assistants and law clerks. You may rent this on a monthly basis.
Wolf Law Chambers understands what legal professionals need and want because we practice law too. We know first-hand the nuances involved with practicing law, and understand the high level of confidentiality and professionalism legal professionals require from their office and conference room rental services.
Not only is rent drastically reduced in a shared law office space, but there are also additional cost-saving measures from sharing an office manager and receptionist.
Salaries are the single most expensive element of a business’s running costs. If two businesses share an administrative team, it can mean increased profit margins for both.
Setting up an office and a law firm is a lot of work. There are a lot of things involved. In addition to finding an office space, you’ll need everything required for running a business: from internet and printers, to office furniture and décor, to supplies and personnel. At WLC, we’ve already taken those foundational steps to start up your law firm so you don’t have to.
Your work environment can have a big impact on your productivity. A private office in a designated office building can help you stay focused and be more productive away from any potential distractions that come with a home office. A home office may be optimal from a cost standpoint but it may fall short when it comes to maintaining a business mindset, maintaining appropriate professional distance from clients, and increasing your network as well as connecting socially with other legal professionals.
A professional address gives you credibility. For both professional and safety reasons, you should not use your home address for your business. Nor is a post office box ideal, as it suggests that you lack the stability of an established office, and there won’t be anyone available to sign for packages. With a Private or Virtual Office Membership package, there is a receptionist who can accept mail from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
Establishing a strong network is one of the most important steps to starting a law practice. Building up a network of legal professionals can help generate business.
Working from a shared office space with other attorneys is an excellent way to form networking relationships; you can establish mutual referral arrangements, share resources and information, and pick up valuable tips regarding the entrepreneurial side of your practice.
This type of collaboration is difficult if you’re isolated at home, and the early days of running a business can be lonely at times. By collaborating with peers in a shared office, you’ll stay motivated and help each other navigate the challenging journey of starting up a new law firm.
